Michelle Fitz, LMFT

My name is Michelle and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in both Oregon and Washington. I am also a licensed school psychologist in both states. I have been supporting people’s mental health and well-being for the past 24 years. I have worked with people across a wide range of roles by providing services through skill training, individual therapy, family therapy, autism spectrum program support specialist for school districts, program manager to two community mental health treatment programs designed to support adolescents who had experienced early trauma, and also serving as support role for the parents and foster parents who were caretaking the youth. I was involved in the pilot program in OR which was the first state-supported model of skills training, which is now widely recognized as a successful model nationally and internationally. I have also more recently and excitedly completed the Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy training through the Wellness Institute.

Treatment Orientations

I believe each person comes from a place of doing the best they truly can! I use person-centered, solution focused, emotionally focused, and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy approaches. I come from a long history of working with families as well, offering parent coaching and behavior management. I also provide Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy therapy services. I will work with you to help identify cycles, patterns, or self-messaging that is causing unwanted behavior or stuckness in order to help increase well-being and balance. My intention is to offer a safe environment for you to feel you can comfortably process, grow, find your voice, learn new coping skills, and develop hope. Life is a journey worth living to the greatest with and for each other! I look forward to helping you navigate yours.
