Amelia Hunt, LPC, CADC III, Clinical and Administrative Process Manager

My name is Amelia Hunt, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug counselor III at Master Academic Proficiency Level (CADCIII). I have approximately 8 years of experience in the health and human service field working with mostly adults and some couples. I have specialized interests and experience in addiction and trauma, with several years of experience in residential and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment centers.

My passion is to help people. We tend to mask or cover up our pain or inability to find life balance with unhealthy coping skills such as unhealthy behaviors, unexplained emotions, or thoughts, such as anxiety and depression, inadequate or unhealthy relationship, inability to make changes, abuse of alcohol or drugs, or other addictions.

I offer a client centered and client driven therapeutic approach. I look at people in a holistic light to try to help them understand how mental health, physical health, and emotional support effect their perspective and overall outlook on life. My objective in therapy is to help you find and use the tools you need to attain and maintain the goals you set for yourself.

I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental ear to listen and help you walk through your struggles. With client driven therapy early on we determine together what role I can play in helping you with your goals. We will create a plan and work through that plan together, making adjustment as time goes on based on your specific needs.

I use some specify therapeutic modalities (all trauma informed) such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I am always open to try and using new Evidence based therapy’s if that benefits my clients.
