Life is hard and you don’t have to face it alone. Hi I am Arooj, a Licensed Clinical social worker with 10 years of experience in the field of counseling. I am also bilingual in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. I am passionate about helping and working with adult individuals who are experiencing overwhelming feelings of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/self-worth, immigrant/first generation child/parent issues, OCD, have experienced sexual, domestic violence trauma or workplace harassment/violence, healthcare worker/first responder burn out, grief over loss of loved ones, ADHD and neuro-divergence, adjustment issues with changes in life, creativity blocks, abuse from narcissistic parental figure/partner, codependency, dealing with a family member going through addiction, difficulty adjusting to life and family transitions such as divorce and relationship issues, post-partum depression, infertility struggles, body image issues, working moms who are overwhelmed with life’s demands and need someone to talk to.
I have lived experience of building resiliency through trauma and I strive to create and hold space for you to explore your feelings that might be difficult to deal with on your own. My approach is to let you create and envision a map for your healing while learning mindfulness, CBT and DBT skills, emotional intelligence and cultural considerations while I serve as a voice to empower and validate you. With my extensive education and training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Expressive arts, Strength and Solution Focused therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and having a Culturally-sensitive and Holistic lens.
