Cameron Beard, LPC

My name is Cameron Beard and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in the mental health field in a variety of roles from providing behavioral therapy to children with ASD, to working as a group counselor for women who have experienced trauma and substance abuse. I have since focused my career doing individual counseling with adults in a private practice setting, and I bring experience in issues including trauma and PTSD, depression, and navigating abusive or manipulative relationships.

Therapeutic Approach

I believe the basis of a positive therapeutic space comes from a healthy relationship rooted in empathy, honesty, genuineness, and nonjudgment. I also believe in the importance of collaboration in therapy. I don’t want to decide on my own what the best thing for my clients to do is going to be; I want to incorporate their voice, their experience, their values, and their preferences into how we spend our time and what we do together. Based on my clients’ specific needs and desires in counseling, I draw from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness.

I provide individual therapy for those who may be experiencing:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Depression

  • Domestic/intimate partner violence

  • Self-esteem issues

  • Relational and communication skills

  • Adjustment to life changes

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Grief and loss

I welcome ALL races, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, abilities, ethnicities, and people without judgment.
