Christine Griffiths, LPC, LMHC, CADC I
Hello! My name is Christine Griffiths and I am honored and humbled to work with clients. I have had the privilege of coming alongside individuals who are going through intense and often life-changing situations. All of these relationships are personal to me and through these experiences I have come to learn the devastating effects painful life events can have on one’s life. I am passionate about helping people and I believe in the power of resilience, compassion and collaborative counseling.
Painful life events can lead to anxiety, depression, negative self-talk, low self-esteem, and difficulties in emotional regulation. It can have a profound effect on our mental health, lifestyle choices and the partners we pick. Left untreated, we can find ourselves in self- destructive and risky behavior. Perhaps you are in a relationship and not sure if you should hang-in-there or let-go. If you and your partner feel like you’re on separate teams, counseling can help you obtain the skills necessary to navigate this delicate dance between people or it can help you move more gracefully on to your next chapter in life.
If you’re struggling or feeling stuck, therapy can help you gain the tools you need so that you can live a life with more intention. Through therapy, you’ll be able to process the past, so that you can thrive in the present and make sound goals for your future. Ultimately, you will be gaining emotional freedom, therefore living your life to the fullest.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is holistic in nature by incorporating mind, body and spirit. I use an array of modalities including but not limited to ACT, DBT, CBT, MI and Hypnotherapy. One of the techniques I utilize is EMDR which is a proven and effective method for treating trauma, PTSD anxiety and self-destructive behavior. EMDR is not talk therapy. Your brain can process information much faster than you can talk, therefore EMDR can be a quicker method of therapy. The information you share with me is up to you. You do not have to share with me what you do not want to share in order to have successful therapy. You are in control and you set the pace.
