Emily Mitchell, LPC

Hello, my name is Emily Mitchell, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Oregon. I have been working as a therapist for the past 8 years, providing support in community mental health, school district programs, and now at The Healing Haven.

Treatment Philosophy:

I believe that the most effective therapy arises from a collaborative relationship between therapist and client. This strong therapeutic alliance is essential in fostering trust and empowering clients and their families to thrive. My approach is rooted in client-centered, trauma-informed, and holistic principles, as I view my clients as the experts in their own lives. Together, we identify the goals for therapy, and my role is to help guide and support clients in reaching them.

I take pride in being genuine, empathetic, and providing unconditional positive regard, which I believe creates a safe space for clients to explore their concerns and achieve positive outcomes. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a therapeutic technique that helps individuals process and heal from the emotional distress caused by past trauma or disturbing life experiences.

In addition to my therapeutic work, I am passionate about continuing education and community involvement. I currently serve as a board member with the Oregon Board for Play Therapy and incorporate play therapy techniques when working with younger clients. I am dedicated to supporting growth and healing for individuals and families, and I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey toward wellness.
