Esthela Mitchell, LMFT
My name is Esthela Mitchell, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon. I have worked in both the non-profit sector and with private agencies in the mental health field since 2008.
My professional experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families including Spanish speaking clients.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, participating in community activities such as dances, cultural events, live performances, and hiking, being outdoors and exploring nature.
Therapeutic Orientation
I believe every human being wishes to reach their full potential for creative expression, fulfilling relationships, experiencing joy, playfulness, aliveness, and a sense of purpose. Feelings of shame and guilt often build up through unresolved conditioning from childhood, from societal norms and expectations and painful life experiences that prevent the natural flow of growth and development. Through a safe, supportive caring environment where you can feel seen, heard, validated and held with care, I will journey with you and support you in accessing those parts of yourself that have been blocked. I will support you in accessing the energy and underlying strengths of those parts that leads to a greater sense of wholeness.
My overall therapeutic approach is holistic; I look at the whole person including the physical, emotional, and spiritual. I utilize different therapeutic modalities, depending on each client’s needs and goals, including somatic approaches, hypnotherapy, internal family systems, NVC (non-violent communication), solution focused, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and other creative approaches that involve art and movement. I offer suggestions and tools so clients can have resources available to them to use outside of therapy. All treatment goals and approaches are co-created with the client, so that the healing process is actively collaborative and individualized to suit your needs.
I provide therapy services to clients who are interested in exploring and working on:
