Stephanie Oliver, MA, LMFT

Hello, my name is Stephanie Oliver and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist whose passion is to help people create and maintain the long-term, sustainable changes they want in order to live their most authentic and fulfilling lives.

I have been working in the mental health field for the past 10 years in a variety of settings including community mental health, in schools, in private practice, as a group facilitator and as a lecturer.

Therapeutic Approach

I am trained as a systemic therapist, which means I look at people in the context of their relationships and their social location to help them see patterns and areas of stuckness in their lives. I am very interested in helping people create long-term change and therefore I use evidence-based approaches that are rooted in emotion focused treatment and attachment. I use these approaches with a social justice lens. My style is very down-to-earth, active and engaged. I have many years of experience working with people experiencing the following:

  • Relationship difficulties

  • disordered eating, body image, recovering from diet culture

  • Adult adoptees

  • Adults from alcoholic or dysfunctional homes

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Shame, Obsession, and Habitual Worrying

  • Health Anxiety

  • Transitions and changes to family life cycle

  • Parenting

If you have never been in therapy or if this is one of many times, please know that with me, you are walking into a safe and open-minded environment that emphasizes your strengths, hopes, and opportunities. I work with people of all races, religions, genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations.
