Susan Robnett, MS, Professional Counseling Associate

Hello! My name is Susan, and I am a Professional Counseling Associate and registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors and Therapists. I have many years of experience and have had the privilege of working with people of all ages; from toddlers, grade school age kids, teens, young adults all the way to working with elders. I worked for many years with high-risk youth in a therapeutic residential setting, I have worked with adults experiencing serious and persistent mental health issues, in community mental health settings, and most recently with youth and families at a local elementary school. Over the years my roles have included case manager, program manager, group facilitator, family advocate, mentor, and mental health therapist. I work now as a mental health therapist predominantly with children, adolescents and families.

Treatment Orientations

I am convinced that people are stronger and more resilient than they give themselves credit for and they can heal their lives. With therapy people can learn to process their trauma and develop skills and healthy patterns that will allow them to create the positive lives they deserve. I work collaboratively with my clients to explore which approach will be the most helpful to their healing process. I use strength-based, person-centered approaches which include using movement, somatic practices, and understanding the mind/body connection. I am experienced in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)as well as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and have seen these approaches offer relief from many symptoms that my clients experience.

I welcome and honor people from all walks of life; this includes all races, religions, social classes, and gender and sexual identities.

I provide therapy for people who may be experiencing:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety disorders

  • PTSD

  • Bipolar affective disorder

  • Behavioral and emotional disorders in children
